I have just started working on this site. It will be a "job in progress" and constantly changing. I hope you find something of interest here, but if not, don't worry, check back occasionly and you may find something worth coming back to.
Thanks for checking it out.

My Hobbies

When I was younger, my mother used to tell me I was destined to be a "Jack of all trades and Master of none". Most likely because I had so many interests that I never settled on any one thing to wrap myself in. That is still true today. I like to travel, visiting places I have never been to. (Which, by the way, aren't very plentiful anymore).
I choose to travel by Motorcycle or automobile, I ride a Gold  Wing GL1100 and I 'm also a Licensed Private Pilot and enjoy flying. I also like Sea Kayaking, Fishing, and back-packing (hiking). I 'm also an Amateur Radio Operator and a Member of ARES/RACES which takes care of Communication for emergencies or natural disasters. If I need anything else to fill my time with, I work around the property getting the place fixed up so I can also enjoy just spending time at home. My daughters and their husbands try to keep me busy also and are doing a pretty good job of it. I also enjoy working with wood, so whenever I can find the time, I like to build things out of wood for use around the place. If this isn't enough, during my travels I enjoy photography so you may see some of my photos here once in a while.
So you can see, my "Dear old Mom" is probably correct. By the way, she is now 92 years old and still getting along, so  who knows perhaps I may be doing all  these things for a long time.

Most Admired

I don't think that I can say that I have any special Heros.
Sometimes, I think, we tend to follow the paths of the heros in our lives. I have many friends and relatives whom I admire and respect and I'm certain that I could list the names of people whom I have never met that I have admired, but as far as choosing to follow any of their paths in my own life, I think that I have always followed my own path. So right or wrong, I have no one to praise or blame as to what I have done or haven't done with my life to date.
That is, except for myself.

I married Doris on November 27th, 1959 in California. We  lived a lot of different places. (Mostly due to my careers). We were married for almost forty-four years and have two grown daughters. Our daughters were born in Medford, OR. From there we moved to the Puget Sound area. Then I was transferred to Eugene, OR. After a year and a half, was transferred on to Los Angeles, CA. From there we came back to the Northwest to Spokane, WA for four years and then I was recruited to go to Fairbanks, AK for four years. When Doris got tired of Alaska, we moved back to the Puget Sound area and after living in Mill Creek, WA, then Kent, WA then Puyallup, WA, we finally ended up in Olympia, WA where I finished up my working careers. Our daughters both  joined us in Olympia after travelling around with their husbands.  They still live nearby.
Our eldest daughter Denise earned her BS in Environmental Sciences and she works for the Health Department of the State of Washington. Our youngest daughter, Donna also works for the State of Washington as a Systems Analyst. She spent almost seven years working for a company which is now known as Verisign before taking the position with the State.
Doris passed away on June 9, 2003 after a three year bout with colon cancer. I have since retired after my third career. Now I am living the life of a bachelor and enjoy not "having" to go to work each day. My last career was that of a Computer Technician in the Banking field where I spent my time maintaining PC's at the administration building as well as eleven branches in Pierce County Washington. So I still play around with computers whenever I can find the time. Mostly building new PC's for friends or fixing their older units so they can still use them. Whenever I get bored, I work for TEK Systems out of  Bellevue, WA doing contract Technician jobs on temporary assignments around the state.
